About Sertab Erener:
Sertab Erener was born in Istanbul in 1964. She started her professional music career in Istanbul Municipality Conservatory, and then continued to the Turkish Government Conservatory. After she graduated from the Consevatory as a coloratura soprano, Sertab started to take stage in some of the popular clubs of Istanbul with her own orchestra.

Meanwhile at the end of the 80's she was working as a back vocalist with Sezen Aksu, the queen of Turkish pop. Sertab also competed during the Turkish national Eurovision final in 1990. She is already known in Europe with her duet albums made with Mando (the Greek participant this year), Voice Male and Ricky Martin. She has been awarded by Sony Music many times for having sold millions of copies of her albums.

She is one of the leading divas in Turkey with seven albums so far. Her concerts and tours draw the attention of many fans in Turkey and abroad.

Sertab Erener and Demir Demirkan composed the Turkish song for Riga. The lyrics of the song are entirely in English this time. According to Erener the song is about "a woman who would try every way she can to win back her lover".
