About The Olsen Brothers:
More than twenty-five years ago the Olsen Brothers were idols of squealing teenage girls. This year it was families all over Denmark who expressed their enthusiasm when the Olsen Brothers were voted a resounding Number One in the Danish Song Contest.

Jorgen Olsen and his brother Niels have been writing songs, singing and performing together ever since they started their careers by forming a pop group, The Kids at the ages of 11 and 15 respectively. Despite their tender years, their material was highly professional and that year they were chosen as the supporting band for The Kinks in Denmark.

In the early 70's things really began moving for the brothers who renamed their band Olsen. Screaming fans greeted their every appearance and their debut album sold over 100,000 copies in Denmark; their songs were also popular abroad, particularly in Germany, France and Japan. Subsequently they pursued other careers and Jorgen Olsen is now a school teacher and Niels Olsen works as an arts officer near Copenhagen.

They have entered several Danish song contests since their years as teen idols. The first time was in 1978 when their song came second. Together with Niels, or on his own, Jorgen has appeared in six Danish song contests but has never won. This year, ten years since Jorgen Olsen's last attempt, Fly on the Wings of Love was the overwhelming winner among the ten Danish entries.
